Re: Erwan's dead Spot On 50
Duckster...
Almost there... but anyways here's how it happen....
Was doing my pattern routine.... after exiting a right stall turn, began flying low and level straight flight, executed right hand knife edge, went low and all was OK, until it went too slow, stalled and the airplane dropped a wing, lost orientation as plane rolled left hand and dumb thumbs pulled airplane more to left and did a 180 deg roll, right wing dug into the ground followed by nose end. Tamat cerita....
But anyways, got another spot on and flew again within the next 2 days as i simply love the way this airplane flies. But to keep a long story short, within just another month or so, i lost it again in a mid air crash with David... this time it broke into a million pieces!! Not very lucky lah this Spot On 50.

Oh yeh, that sound more professional, Since i didnt know how to explain the flying characteristic hehehe, am sound like Cheap news paper writer anyway vs the New Straits Times
That sad moment of Spot On both 'Dead On' the TJ field, and yet i still remeber the 75 Ultimate engine that make u a hard time to get it right, but when it fly it really make a good impression as i see most of ur flying skills. I just dont know when can i fly Plane.

Re: Erwan's dead Spot On 50
Duckster,
Yes, the OS FS70 Ultimate is a 'bitch' to tune and get right.... but once i goes, it runs pretty well.
I still cannot explain the mystery of the glow plug replacement syndrome. After 2 weeks of not running the engine, it would give an extremely tough time trying to get it to run. If it fires up pun, it will only do for a few seconds before it quits. No matter what you try to do with the low and high needle mixture it will not work until you change to a new glow plug.
Whats interesting though is that the plug is fine and works on another four stroke engine without problems.... just that it wont work if not replaced.... mana tahan makan glow plug every month!
I've read in RCU that most people have given up on this engine and is prolly one of OS's temperamental engines. I like it because its pumped and regulated so gives nice consistent performance irrespective of the aircraft flying attitude.
